Changes in Ohio Higher Education
Zac Haines will give us an inside look at the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act. This little-known, yet monumental, reform legislation, which was signed into law in March, enacts the following reforms:
Prohibits Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) offices
Ends discriminatory litmus tests in faculty hiring
Requires syllabi and course materials to be posted online
Allows for post-tenure review

Speaker Bio
Dave Hatter is an award-winning technology leader with over 30 years of experience in software development, cybersecurity, and project management. He holds a BS in Information Systems from NKU and has written or contributed to 12 technology books, written more than 100 technology-related articles and has been quoted in publications including The Wall Street Journal, Money, MSNBC.
Dave is a regular on-air subject matter expert on FOX19 and Local 12. He has been interviewed more than 2,000 times by media outlets nationwide, including Bloomberg Financial, Fox News, CNN.
He’s an adjunct instructor at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and has taught at the University of Cincinnati and Gateway Community and Technical College.
Zac Haines–is CEO of a group purchasing organization with member sales exceeding $2 billion, and he is running for Ohio’s 7th Senate District in 2026.
In 2020, he was nominated by President Donald J. Trump to the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation Board of Trustees, and in 2018, he was appointed to Miami University’s Board of Trustees. Zac has received the Cincinnati Business Courier’s “Forty Under 40” award and was named a Maverick PAC Future 40 Republican in 2020.
